Relax and explore your inner world

For many years throughout her career as a psychotherapist, Smart CBT’s Sarah Gibbs imagined what the ideal CBT therapy room would look like. It needed to be natural, tranquil and spacious. Safe and personal. A sensory space that benefited the well-being of the client and the therapist – an essential platform for high-quality psychotherapy. In 2016 Sarah created the Hygge Cabin at the centre of her new mental health service.

The room

The cabin is a generous-sized timber building in a sheltered garden set back from a road. The interior is clean and simple, with comfortable armchairs and drink facilities. Large doors and windows can be kept open or closed during your session. The theme of nature, at the heart of Smart CBT’s mission, is reflected in the decoration and ambience.

“I was feeling nervous when I went to my first session, however as soon as I arrived Sarah made me feel at ease, welcoming me warmly. The log cabin is situated at the bottom of her beautiful garden and as soon as I stepped into it I found it a very soothing and calming environment, and I immediately started to relax. I am having EMDR treatment with Sarah and her knowledge, skills and log cabin are benefiting me hugely.”
